Bruno Kirby, a popular American actor known for his performances in When Harry Met Sally, The Godfather II, and City Slickers, tragically passed away on August 14, 2006 at the age of 57. Kirby was born in New York City in 1949. He starred in a number of sitcoms and guest appearances in his early career, before making his feature film debut in The Last Detail in 1973. He went on to appear in several notable films such as Good Morning, Vietnam; The Dream Team; Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead; This Is Spinal Tap; The Freshman; and The Lemon Sisters. Many remember Kirby for his performance as Billy Crystal’s best friend in When Harry Met Sally, his role in the Academy Award-winning The Godfather II, and his turn as Hollywood talent agent Howie Fox in City Slickers. He also appeared in the classic family comedy Home Alone 2: Lost In New York and 1995’sGet Shorty. Kirby had a successful television career as well, portraying Mark Wahlberg’s father in the popular ‘90s series The WB's In Living Color, for which he received an Emmy nomination. He also had recurring roles on the sitcom Love and War and dramas Third Watch and Sons of Anarchy. Kirby is survived by his wife of 37 years, the actress Lynn Sellers, and his sons Larry and Andrew.
