On March 30, 2003, beloved actor Michael Jeter passed away at the age of 50. Born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Michael was an acclaimed stage, film, and television actor, widely acclaimed for his diverse roles in movies such as “The Green Mile” and “Jurassic Park III.” Michael also had success on Broadway in musicals “The Grand Tour” and “Sweeney Todd.” He was a Tony Award-winner for his performance with Nathan Lane in “The Invention of Love.” The son of a lumber inspector and a schoolteacher, Michael attended the University of Memphis where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1979. He passed away peacefully in his Los Angeles home surrounded by family and loved ones. He is survived by his sister Carol, brother Chad and his nephew Lucas. Michael’s talent and charm will be deeply missed and always remembered. He touched the lives of those around him and inspired many through his individualistic approach to life and art. May he rest in peace.
