Michael Jackson (1958 - 2009) Michael Jackson, iconic singer, composer, dancer, and entertainer, passed away on June 25th, 2009 at the age of 50. Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana, and was the seventh of nine children. He began performing with his brothers in the Jackson 5 in 1964 and quickly becoming known for his innovative dance moves and powerful singing voice. In 1971, he began his solo career and produced a string of hit albums, beginning with the 1982 release of Thriller, which is widely considered to be the best-selling album in history. His fans had an immense degree of adoration for him and his creative talents, and his distinct style of dance and music reshaped the pop culture landscape. As an artist, Jackson sold hundreds of millions of albums and was featured in 8 movies, 3 of which are autobiographical. He was awarded 13 Grammy awards and his accomplishments were recognized, as he was the recipient of the Living Legend Award from the 32nd Annual Grammy Awards Show and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jackson’s influence continues to live on through his influence of countless other artists and renowned performances. He lives to be remembered by loved ones and fans alike.
