Comedian and television host Joan Rivers passed away peacefully on September 4, 2014 at 81 years old. Rivers was a fixture of nighttime and late-night television for generations. She became a pioneering female broadcast journalist and stand-up comedian, breaking many taboos with her often acerbic observations. She co-hosted the television program "The Last Show with Joan Rivers." She and her brand graced the cover of New York Magazine in 1977. Ms. Rivers held many awards for her work, including a Daytime Emmy and a Grammy. Throughout her career, Rivers won recognition from the most prestigious industry awards, including a Primetime Emmy, TV Land and Friar's Awards. Her televised funeral service will be held in New York City. Ms. Rivers had one daughter, Melissa Rivers, and one grandson, Edgar Cooper Endicott. She will be remembered and loved by many.
