Joan Bennett, a beloved mother, actress, and philanthropist, passed away on December 7, 1990, at the age of 80. Born in Palisades, New Jersey, Joan was a prolific actress in an impressive career that spanned half a century. In addition to a successful acting career, Joan was an active philanthropist. She was involved with the Los Angeles Library Guild and the Los Angeles Opera Organization, and she was a founding member of the Film Council of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Joan is survived by her four children, with whom she had a special bond. She also leaves behind a loving and devoted husband of 30 years, Jack Mosher, and three grandchildren. Her spirit and her love remain with all of us who knew and loved her, and her name will forever inspire us with its strength and beauty.
