It is with heavy hearts that we solemnly announce the passing of Jim Henson, one of the most iconic figures in family entertainment. Jim passed away on May 16th, 1990 at the age of 53. An American puppeteer and filmmaker, Jim was was best known for creating the Muppets – a beloved cast of characters that graced televisions and movie screens across the globe. Jim’s creations had a unique and incomparable charm that touched generations of fans, young and old. His work had a pervasive influence that included non-puppet projects such as his innovative music videos with award-winning music group The new Seekers, as well as his work with the fantasy film “The Dark Crystal”. The beauty and magic of Jim’s work will live on forever. His life and career were a shining example of his passion for the art of storytelling. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
