Jim Steinman passed away on April 19, 2021, at the age of 73. A Grammy-winning songwriter and producer, Steinman is known for his work with Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler, Air Supply, and Celine Dion, writing and producing some of their most memorable songs. His credits also include producing albums for Barry Manilow, and helping to create the musicals Tanz der Vampire and Bat Out of Hell. Steinman was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012. He also received numerous other awards and accolades throughout his career, including the Ivor Novello Special International Award in 2011, and a lifetime achievement award from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers at the Berlin Music Video Awards in 2019. Steinman will be remembered as a talented writer and producer with a unique, dynamic ear for music. His music will continue to entertain and inspire audiences of all ages.
