Christina Grimmie, 22, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2016. Christina was a talented singer, songwriter and YouTube celebrity, best known for her forthright cover songs and her appearances on the 6th season of The Voice in the United States. Born to parents Tina and Albert Grimmie on March 12, 1994 in Marlton, New Jersey, Christina started out singing in her local church’s worship band in her early teens. She released her debut EP, “Find Me,” in 2011. Her cover channel on YouTube despite growing numbers earned her a contract with Island Records in 2011. She performed many times throughout the US, including a nationwide tour with Selena Gomez in 2013 and performed her own headlining tour in 2014. Grimmie won an MTV Music Award for her performance on The Voice in 2015 and released her EP ‘Side A’ on the same year. Christina’s upbeat personality and strong faith were a beacon of light to her family and friends. Many described her as kind and loving with a bubbly personality. In death, Christina leaves behind her loving parents, Tina and Albert; her brother Marcus; and 100s of millions of fans around the world. We honor her memory and mourn her passing.
