Randolph Scott, a prominent American actor best known for his roles in western and adventure movies, died on 1987-03-02 at the age of 89. A native of Virginia, Scott began as a stockbroker before turning to Hollywood film in 1927. His career spanned more than five decades, and he appeared in more than 103 feature films. Scott is widely known for his western roles in films such as Seven Men from Now, The Virginian, Ride the High Country, and Comanche Station. He also was cast in numerous adventure films such as The Sea Hawk, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, and Abilene Town. Scott was inducted into the western Performers Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in 1984. He had a deep interest in Western culture and became a passionate collector of Western and Americana memorabilia. Randolph Scott earned a place among the western movie greats with his iconic roles. His films remain a beloved contribution to cinema for fans around the world.
