Peggy Lipton, a beloved actress, model and singer, passed away peacefully on May 11th, 2019. She was 72 years old. Peggy was born August 30th, 1946 in New York City to painter Rita Hetty and musician Lawrence Lipton. Peggy was a true star, starting her career as a model at the age of 15, gracing the covers of magazines like Glamour and Mademoiselle. She attended the Professional Children's School in New York City and went on to obtain her Bachelor's of Arts degree from Marymount College. With a career spanning decades, Peggy left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. She played one of the title roles in the hit television show, The Mod Squad. She also starred in Twin Peaks and Alias. Her work in television and film earned her two Emmy Award nominations, a Golden Globe nomination and four Golden Globe Award wins. Her music career found success in the late 1960s and Peggy performed with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Tina Turner. She released three singles and two studio albums, "Lipton" and "Peggy Lipton." Peggy was married to music producer Quincy Jones, with whom she had two daughters, Kidada and Rashida. A brilliant star, Peggy Lipton was a beloved actress, model, and singer. She will be dearly missed.
