Betty Hutton (February 26, 1921 – March 12, 2007) was an American actress, singer and comedian known for her distinctive voice and energetic performances. She began acting professionally at the age of sixteen and went on to become one of the most successful and beloved stars of the 1940s. Betty made her Broadway debut in 1939, and in 1940 starred in the musical revue Panama Hattie. As a movie star, she gained notoriety for her lead roles in The Fleet's In (1942) and The Miracle of Morgan's Creek (1944). She also had supporting roles in the films Incendiary Blonde (1945) and Annie Get Your Gun (1950). Later in her career, Hutton had roles on television sitcoms such as The Life of Riley, guest appearances on variety shows, and guest-starred on The Flintstones. Betty Hutton passed away at 86 years old on March 12, 2007. Her legacy and memorable performances will live on in Hollywood and pop culture for years to come.
