John Amos, age 84, passed away on October 1, 2024 at his home in Anytown, USA. He was born on June 5, 1940 in Smallville, USA to the late Robert and Mary Amos. John was the youngest of three siblings and grew up in a loving and close-knit family. John had a passion for education and dedicated his life to the field. He received his Bachelor's degree in English from State University and went on to earn his Master's degree in Education from City College. John had a long and fulfilling career as an English teacher, and he touched the lives of countless students with his enthusiasm for learning and literature. In his free time, John enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was known for his quick wit, kind heart, and unwavering integrity. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and former students. John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sarah; his children, Michael and Susan; his grandchildren, Emily, David, and Rachel; and his siblings, Robert and Mary. A private burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Education Association in John's memory. He will always be remembered for his dedication to education and his impact on those around him.
