John Mahoney (1940 - 2018) passed away peacefully on 2018-02-04. He was 77 years old. John was best known for his roles as Martin Crane in the television sitcom Frasier (1993-2004) and Dr. Abelard in Say Anything (1989). His extensive career included roles in television, film, and theater. His film credits included such notable films as Moonstruck (1987), Tin Men (1987), In the Line of Fire (1993) and The American President (1995). On stage, John won the 1986 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in The House of Blue Leaves. John was born and raised in Blackpool, England and moved to the United States at age nineteen. He earned a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Quincy College and a Master's degree in Speech from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. John will be remembered fondly for his many film and television roles and for his years of service to the entertainment industry.
