It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jake LaMotta. Born July 10th, 1922, he passed away on September 19th, 2017 at the age of 95. LaMotta will be remembered not only for his impressive record of 83 fights as a professional boxer, but also for his public persona. Nicknamed "the Raging Bull", LaMotta held the world middleweight championship from 1949 to 1951, famously battling Sugar Ray Robinson in the ring. His successes in the ring translated to onscreen appearances in the award-winning film, "Raging Bull", which was based on his life story. Though gone, his legacy will be remembered.
