Henry A. Kissinger, a renowned diplomat and foreign policy mastermind, passed away peacefully at the age of 100 on November 29, 2023. Kissinger was born on May 27, 1923 in a small Bavarian town near the German-Czech Border. He attended the City College of New York and Harvard University, where he completed his doctorate in political science. During his career, he served as National Security Advisor, Secretary of State, and counselor to President Richard Nixon. His brilliant geopolitical strategies had an immense impact on America's foreign affairs, and he was credited with painstakingly establishing diplomatic relations between the United States and China, leading the peace talks to end the Vietnam War, and championing the Cold War nuclear arms race. At the time of his death, Kissinger was a member of the International Crisis Group, a senior researcher at the Hoover Institution, and honorary chairman of Kissinger Associates. He held honorary degrees from many universities, was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973, and received numerous other awards and citations. Ironically, he once observed that, “the statesman's duty is to bridge the gap between his nation's experience and his vision.” Kissinger is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth; his two grandchildren; and countless friends, colleagues, and admirers all around the world. He will be remembered for his vast wisdom and immense contributions to global diplomacy.

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity. Gilda Radner
