Helen Maxine Reddy, 79, passed away peacefully at home on September 29th, 2020. Helen Reddy was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1941 and worked as a singer, songwriter and actor. She is remembered for her tribute song to women's rights and her iconic anthems of female power and liberation. With a career spanning five decades, Reddy released more than a dozen albums, most famed for her hit single, I Am Woman. Reddy won multiple awards, including the 1975 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and the TV Week Logie Award for Most Popular Female Personality, as well as a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in the 1974 film Stand Up and Be Counted. Reddy's spirit and activism continued to inspire for decades, making her an icon of female liberation. Beyond her music, Reddy was a proud mother and grandmother whose devotion to her family touched those around her. Her impact will continue to be remembered and cherished by those who loved her.
