Harry Nilsson, songwriter and singer, died on January 15, 1994, at the age of 52. A renowned talent in the music industry, Nilsson made a significant impact on popular music, charting 13 top 40 hit singles throughout his career. His most notable works include the 1968 Randy Newman-penned hit "Everybody's Talkin'," featured in the movie Midnight Cowboy, "Without You," a worldwide hit recorded by several artists, and his Grammy-winning album "A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night." His musical influence has been heard in songs covering a variety of music genres. Nilsson was born Harry Edward Nelson III in Brooklyn, New York in 1941. He is survived by his two sons, Zack and Kief. A prolific writer and performer, Nilsson's body of work lives on, reaffirming his legacy in the music industry for generations.
