Edward Smith passed away on April 15, 1912 at 62 years old. He was born in Liverpool, England and was a resident of the United States for over 15 years, having migrated to pursue employment opportunities. Edward was an incredibly enterprising and hardworking professional, achieving success as a merchant, businessman and entrepreneur throughout his life. He established several successful businesses in New England and was a respected figure in the local business community. Edward was married for 36 years to his beloved wife and had six children, all of whom survive him. He was an active member of the St. John’s Episcopal Church, where he served on the board of trustees and contributed monetarily. Edward was an avid reader and his passion was sailing and boating. He was known to be generous to a fault and was beloved by many. Edward will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his friends and family. He leaves behind a rich legacy of compassion, resilience and ambition. His loss will be deeply mourned by all those who were lucky enough to know him.
