Moses Horwitz, better known by his stage name Curly Howard, passed away January 18, 1952. He was 48 years old. Born October 22, 1903 in the Bensonhurst area of Brooklyn, New York, Curly first found fame with his brother Shemp and two other members of the "Three Stooges". During their years of performing on stage, screen and in short films, Curly was known for his exaggerated expressions and physical comedy. He appeared in a total of 130 films during his lifetime. Curly was known as a generous donor to charitable causes and often gave generous amounts of time and gifts to the Jewish community. His passing leaves behind a large fanbase remembered and appreciated by generations of fans.
