Bea Benaderet (née Beatrice “Bea” Benaderet; April 4, 1906 – October 13, 1968) passed away on October 13, 1968 at the age of 62. Bea was an iconic actress, comediene, and voice actress in American film and television. In her 62 years, she made an indelible mark on the entertainment world with her unique talent. Bea grew up in San Francisco, California and discovered her talent for comedy at an early age. She made her Broadway debut in 1946 with the revue "Keep Off the Grass" and her film debut in "It Happened on Fifth Avenue" in 1947. She appeared in various films throughout the 1940s and 1950s, including Hitchcock's "Psycho" in 1960. She was best known for her work on television, appearing in the popular show "The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show" from 1950 to 1958. She starred in the television series "The Beverly Hillbillies" from 1962 to 1966. Throughout her career, Bea was nominated for 9 Emmy Awards and won 2. Bea became a beloved figure in the entertainment world thanks to her work as an actress, comediene, and voice actress, and will be greatly missed.
