Yul Brynner, 65, of Hollywood, California, passed away on October 10, 1985. He was known as an esteemed actor, director, and singer. Born in July 11, 1920, in Vladivostok, Siberia, Brynner was the son of Boris Bryner and Marousia Blagovidova. He moved to China when he was 5 and then to Paris at age 8. Brynner's career began on the Broadway stage in 1940 and spanned decades of critically acclaimed television and movie roles. He starred in the 1951 film The King and I, which earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor. Other memorable roles included roles in The Ten Commandments (1956), Anastasia (1956), and The Magnificent Seven (1960). In addition to his many roles in film and television, Brynner also served as a director, producer, and singer. His songs "Gotta Get a Girl" and "What a Difference a Day Made" were particularly well-received. Brynner is survived by his three children, Victoria, Elmira, and Rock. He leaves behind a legacy of excellent performances in memorable roles, which he will be remembered for.
