Wilm Hosenfeld, born 1895 in Fulda, Germany, passed away on August 13th 1952 at the age of 57. A WWI veteran, Wilm was a schoolteacher and a regimental officer with the German Imperial Army, later joining the German Wehrmacht during WWII. During this time, he was stationed in Poland where he protected Jewish citizens from deportation to concentration camps, providing assistance and shelter. Wilm was later interred in a Soviet prison camp until his death. Wilm will be remembered for his strong faith, courage, and sense of justice and humanity. He devoted his life to helping and protecting others despite the dangers and potential risks to his own safety. The stories of his heroism and dedication to duty will serve as an example for many generations.
