On February 16th, 2001, William H. Masters, passed away at the age of 85 in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. William was born to Harry and Edna Masters on August 29th, 1916. Throughout his career, William had a passion for scientific research, which led him to his accomplishments in gynecology and laparoscopy, and he served as a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University in St. Louis for twenty-five years. He also served as the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University, and many prestigious professional organizations recognize his work in the field. William is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Cantonese, and son, William H. Masters Jr. William's legacy will live on through his advocacy for women's health, his groundbreaking contributions in the field of gynecology, and his devotion to scientific research.
