Actor William Hurt, 71, died on March 13, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Born in 1950, Hurt first rose to prominence in the early 1980s for his starring roles in the films "Body Heat" and "Kiss of the Spider Woman". He would go on to earn Oscar nominations for his roles in "Children of a Lesser God" and "The Accidental Tourist". Hurt is also well-known for his television work, earning three Emmy Awards for his roles in "Into the West", "The Big Chill", and "Damages". In recent years, Hurt battled health problems stemming from a 2005 car accident, which left him with a permanent limp. But he continued to work in both television and film, most recently appearing in the series "Humans" and the movie "The Sum of All Fears". Hurt is survived by his wife, two children, and two grandchildren.
