It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Vicente Fernández, on 2021-12-12 at 81 years old. Vicente Fernández was a Mexican singer and actor, widely known around the world. Born on 17 February 1940 in the village of Huentitán, El Alto near Guadalajara, in the Mexican state of Jalisco, Vicente Fernandez was considered a living legend of Mexican music and culture. During his career, Vicente Fernández won several awards including an Ariel Award (Mexico's version of the Oscar) for best actor in 1969 for his performance in Mujer de Cabaret, and numerous Latin Grammy awards. He was also honored by the Latin Recording Academy for his lifetime musical achievements, presenting him a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002. Vicente Fernández was loved by people all around the world whose lives were touched by his exceptional talent and passion for life. He will be greatly missed, but he leaves behind a lasting legacy that will never be forgotten.
