Verne Troyer, the beloved actor and entertainer, passed away on April 21st, 2018 at the age of 49. He is best remembered for his numerous beloved roles, particularly Mini-Me in the 1999 science-fiction comedy Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. He was born in Sturgis, Michigan, on January 1st, 1969, and spent time working at his family's auto repair shop before he was discovered by Mike Myers. Troyer’s break in the industry came with a role in Baby’s Day Out, followed shortly after with a lead role in the 1995 film Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss, and then Austin Powers. He went on to appear in an array of films and television series, including Jackass: The Movie, Bubble Boy, Men in Black, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Malcolm in the Middle, Jingle All the Way, and Celebrity Juice. He also made a number of guest appearances in shows like Fear Factor, The Love Boat: The Next Wave, Reno 911 and The Surreal Life. Despite being of smaller stature, Verne never let his size lessen his ambition and dreams. He will be remembered for not only his many inspiring performances but also for his dedication and ambition to succeed in his industry regardless of the odds. His loss will be felt by many.
