Vera-Ellen, one of the most beloved movie stars of Hollywood's Golden Age, passed away August 30, 1981 at the age of 60. Born February 16, 1921, Vera-Ellen was an American dancer and actress, best known for roles in classic American musicals like 1980's White Christmas and On the Town from 1949. During her career, she starred and danced in numerous films, acting alongside some of Hollywood's most iconic actors and actresses. She was nominated for awards for her roles in films like Call Me Madam and Three Little Words, and was considered one of the best dancers of her generation. She was one of the few film stars to move gracefully between musical comedy and dramatic roles. Although her career was short, spanning only a few decades, her talent and contribution to the Golden Age of Hollywood will not be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
