Veerappan

We mark with sadness the passing of Veerappan, who died on October 18, 2004, at 52 years old. Veerappan made his mark in the world as a tribal leader and a celebrated figure in Tamil Nadu. He was best known for his daring robberies and clashes with the military. He earned his place in local lore as a Robin Hood figure, taking from the rich and redistributing the wealth among the poor. He lived off the grid and on the lam for over 25 years, outsmarting authorities while becoming a living legend. His memory will live on through the works he is remembered for and the lasting impact he made. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
