V.C. Andrews, best known for her gothic romance fiction, died on December 19th, 1986. She was 63 years old. V.C. Andrews was born Cleo Virginia Andrews in Portsmouth, Virginia in 1923. When she was young, she nurtured her dreams of becoming a writer by imagining and retelling stories of courageous heroes and heroines. She became a successful writer and wrote 27 books, with her most famous series being the Dollanganger saga. Her books sold millions of copies and have been translated into 25 languages. Her works have been adapted to screen, including Flowers in the Attic, which was turned into a 2014 Lifetime movie starring Heather Graham and Ellen Burstyn. V.C. Andrews has left a lasting and meaningful impact on the world of literature. Her works will continue to be read and enjoyed by future generations.
