It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Petty on October 2, 2017, at the age of 66. Tom was a highly successful American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His career in the music industry began in Gainesville, Florida when he was just 13 years old. Throughout his decades-long career, Tom achieved worldwide fame with his band The Heartbreakers and with his solo work. Tom’s music earned him countless awards and earned him vast respect from his peers and fans alike. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2002 he was given the prestigious Keys to the City of his hometown. Tom leaves behind a rich legacy. His music touched the lives of millions of people, inspiring us to live the life we love and to never back down. He will be remembered for his endearing charisma, iconic fashion sense, and indelible contributions to music. Tom will be deeply missed and remembered always.
