It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mae Young - better known as The Fabulous Moolah - on November 2, 2007, at the age of 84. The Fabulous Moolah, born in 1923 in Tgart, South Carolina, is one of the most recognizabe professional wrestlers of all time. She was the first woman to ever promote a woman's wrestling match in South Carolina and the first women to wrestle in Madison Square Garden. At the height of her reign, Moolah held the Women's Championship Belt for 28 years. She traveled the world entertaining millions of fans with her wrestling prowess. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1995 and lived the rest of her life as a true wrestling icon. The Fabulous Moolah left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. She will be beloved and remembered as one of the pioneers of women's wrestling. Her name will forever be remembered as a legendary champion.
