Terry Pratchett, author of the renowned Discworld series, has passed away at the age of 66. Born in Berkshire, England, Pratchett wrote over 70 books in his lifetime, and achieved major success with his Discworld series – a comedic, pun-filled take on the fantasy genre. Pratchett was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2007, but continued writing until his death in 2015. His final book, The Shepherd’s Crown, was published shortly after his death. Pratchett’s fans and colleagues have lauded his work, calling him “one of the greats of English literature.”

Let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star, and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life.
