Steven Holcomb, professional bobsledder, sadly passed away on May 6, 2017 at the age of 37. The four-time Olympic medalist was born in Park City, UT where he grew up skiing and playing hockey. Holcomb started bobsledding in 1998 and went on to become one of the most decorated bobsledders in the sport. In 2002, he was part of the first four-man team in history to break the five-second barrier and the four-man team to win the World Championships. From then on Holcomb has earned medals at multiple World Championships and Olympic Games. He achieved historical feats in the 2010 Winter Olympics where he won gold in the four-man with his team, as well as bronze in the two-man with his brakeman. Holcomb was part of the 2014 World Championship four-man team that grabbed gold. He also traveled to Sochi in the 2014 Winter Olympics, where he grabbed another bronze with his team. Holcomb has been an inspiration to many, leaving a legacy of determination, hard work and a true passion for the sport he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a champion in sport and life.
