Prominent football manager and former professional player Siniša Mihajlović passed away on 16 December 2022, aged 53. Born in 1966 in Vukovar, Serbia, Siniša Mihajlović was a professional footballer, playing for a number of clubs across Europe between 1985 and 2002. He made 63 appearances for the Serbian national football team, contributing to the team’s success in the European Championships in 2000. Following his retirement from professional football in 2002, Mihajlović began his career as a manager. He successfully coached clubs in Serbia, Italy, and Turkey, winning a number of awards and titles during his managerial career, including the Serbian SuperLiga in the 2011-12 season. Mihajlović enjoyed immense respect and admiration from all those who knew him, and was well-loved by his players, colleagues, and fans. His legacy in the football world will remain a lasting tribute to his work and dedication.
