Hailing from Bangalore, India, Ms. Devi was best-known for her extraordinary talent in solving complex mathematical calculations within seconds. Furthermore, her abilities made her one of the founding minds in the field of computing, as she applied her talents to machines. Ms. Devi was born on November 4, 1929 and raised by her parents. Her extraordinary talent was recognized early on and she went on to amaze people with her mathematics skills across India and the world, solving the most complex questions with ease and accuracy. In 1977, she shattered records by being the first Indian woman to be featured in the Guinness Book of World Records. She became an international celebrity, appearing on TV and writing several books on mathematics, puzzles, and astrology. Shakuntala Devi leaves behind an incredible legacy, leaving an indelible mark for her contribution to the field of mathematics.
