Sean Lock, beloved comedian, television personality, and actor, died on August 16th, 2021, at 58 years old. Sean was born in Chiswick, London in 1963. He attended Chaulton School, and quickly developed an interest in comedy, which he then worked in the industry throughout the 1980s. In 1995, Sean shot to fame when he joined the popular Channel 4 series, 'Stand Up for the Week. It wasn't long before he began appearing in improvisation style panel shows such as '8 Out of 10 Cats' and 'Would I Lie to You?'. In 2000, Sean got his own show, '15 Minutes of Fame', which allowed him to explore the comedy scene on a deeper level. His career continued to grow from there, and he was declared one of Britain's biggest comedy stars. His DVD 'Sean Lock Live' went triple platinum at the time of its release. In later years, Sean additionally reprised his role as an actor, starring in hit shows such as 'Benidorm', 'The Tunnel' and 'New Tricks'. He had recently been in the lineup for the Gameforce 2020 tour, following his successful appearance in a similar show in 2019. He is survived by his ex-wife, girlfriend and son. Sean's career spanned more than 30 years, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and entertainment. He had a wonderful wit and wisdom, and went on to touch the lives of many both on and off screen. He will be remembered fondly and deeply missed.
