It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Scott Joplin, a musical genius and the King of Ragtime. Joplin was born in 1868 in Texas, and is known among many other musical contributions as the composer of "The Entertainer". Joplin died at the age of 48 on April 17th in 1917. He is a beloved figure in popular music. Joplin will be remembered for his ever-so-rhythmic and emotionally moving music that has continued to influence musicians and other artists across the world. He defined an entirely new musical genre with his compositions, solidifying his impact on the musical landscape for generations to come. We will never forget his musical genius and will sorely feel his absence. Scott Joplin, may you rest in peace.
