On Thursday, November 15, 2018, the entertainment industry lost a legendary musician and performer, Roy Clark, who passed away peacefully at the age of 85. Roy Clark, born on April 15, 1933 in Meherrin, Virginia, began honing his musical talents at an early age. Mr. Clark gained fame as both a guitarist and banjo player. He took the Grand Old Opry stage in the 1950s and in 1960 was made a member. In 1962, he began hosting his own syndicated television show, 'The Roy Clark Show', which ran until 1968. He made guest appearances on television shows, such as 'Hee Haw', through the 1970s, and continued performing and recording music until his passing in 2018. Roy Clark was a member of the Hall of Fame of the Grand Old Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame. His awards include a Grammy Award, numerous CMA Awards, and an ACM Award. He is survived by his daughter and granddaughter, numerous close friends he made while performing and his fans around the world. Mr. Clark will be remembered as one of the greatest country music artists of all time.
