Ron Moody, a beloved British actor best known for his role as "Fagin" in the 1968 film version of "Oliver!", passed away on 11 June 2015 at the age of 91. He was born Ronald Moodnick in London on 8 January 1924 and attended the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. Moody enjoyed a long successful career, gaining recognition for his roles in numerous stage productions, films, and television shows. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Fagin and went on to enjoy an extensive musical theatre career, starring in productions of Oliver!, Too Many Girls, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Singin' in the Rain, among many others. His television work included guest appearances on shows like Dark Shadows and Absolutely Fabulous and appearances in multiple Doctor Who telemovies. Moody's lasting legacy as Fagin left an indelible impression on generations of viewers and theatre audiences. He is remembered as a talented actor whose enthusiasm for his craft and love of performance were infectious and inspiring to many.
