Rodney Glen King, age 43, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2012 in the presence of his family. Rodney was born on April 2, 1969 in Sacramento, California. He was the youngest of three children to Ronald, a construction worker, and Odessa King. In 1991, Rodney became a nationally recognized figure after a Los Angeles police brutality incident. This incident caught the attention of the media and thrust Rodney into the spotlight. He was ultimately awarded an $87 million dollar civil verdict in 1994. Rodney is remembered by his friends and family for his sense of humor and his commitment to kindness. He was known for his love of boxing, movie-making, and a well-lived life. Rodney is survived by his parents Ronald and Odessa, and his two siblings, Dorene and Jothan. He is also survived by his third son, David. He is now reunited in spirit with his son, Christopher, who died in 1991.
