Robert Moses (1888-1981) passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on July 29, 1981. Moses was born in Massachusetts before graduating from City College of New York and Oxford University. He went on to become one of the most influential figures in American city planning and transportation after a successful career as a lawyer. Moses developed a plan for regional highways in New York City, and counted the Triborough Bridge among his many accomplishments. He also had a hand in the construction of Jones Beach State Park on Long Island and hundreds of parks throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Though he was criticized for his power over city planning and the displacement of people of color during creation of large public works, his legacy is one of beauty and efficiency, and his impact can still be seen in the design of many of New York City's parks and bridges.

Death is no more than passing from one room into another. But there’s a difference for me, you know. Because in that other room I shall be able to see. Helen Keller (Remember that Helen Keller was blind)
