Robert Forster, the Tony Award-nominated actor known for his roles in films such as Jackie Brown, The Descendants, and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, has died on October 11, 2019, at the age of 78. Forster, a native of Rochester, New York, began his acting career on the stage, appearing in the original Broadway production of hunger by Edward Stone in 1966. He went on to star in films such as The Stalking Moon, Reflections in a Golden Eye, Alligator, and The Delta Force as well as television shows such as Banyon, Nakia, and Alias. In 1997, Forster earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown. In 2019, he was honored with the Career Achievement Award at the 17th Annual Hollywood Film Awards. Forster is survived by his partner Denise Grayson, his daughters Elizabeth and Kate Forster, and his granddaughter Audrey.
