Road Warrior Animal (real name Joseph Laurinaitis), born on July 12, 1960, died at the age of 60 on September 22, 2020. Animal, as he was fondly known, is remembered for being half of the tag team The Road Warriors (the Legion of Doom in the WWE). Animal co-founded and competed as The Road Warriors alongside fellow wrestler Mike Hegstrand (Hawk). During their careers, The Road Warriors held more than 20 Tag Team Championships around the world, competed in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011, and earned the nickname the “Most Dominant Tag Team in History.” His influence on professional wrestling was immense, and both Animal and Hawk were a beloved force in the wrestling industry. Animal continues to receive posthumous respect and admiration for many of his accomplishments during his career. His passing has saddened colleagues, family, and fans alike. He will be remembered for his wild and electric personality, the pose he was known for performing during his entrance, his many accomplishments, and his larger-than-life persona. He has left behind a legacy in the wrestling world that will remain untouchable.
