Ricky "Ravishing" Rude (1959-1999) passed away on April 20, 1999 at the age of 40. Rude achieved success in professional wrestling, competing in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), World Wrestling Federation (WWF) now World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). During this period, he won several heavyweight titles and held the WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight title for over a year. In the sports entertainment industry, Rude was renowned for his good looks and the "Ravishing" gimmick that made him an iconic villain of the 1980s. He was also known for his rivalry and high-profile matches with Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Ultimate Warrior, and The Macho Man Randy Savage. Away from the ring, Rude was passionate about music and often featured songs as his entrance theme. He founded the original band, WCW Monday Nitro, which wrote and performed the original anthem for WCW. Rude is survived by his wife, Michelle, three children, and a legacy in pro wrestling that will remain for years to come.
