American mass murderer (1941-1991).

Died December 5th, 1991 at 49 years old in Joliet (myocardial infarction).
Richard Benjamin Speck, age 49, passed away on December 5, 1991. Born in Kirkwood, Illinois on December 6, 1941, Richard was a US Navy Veteran and a professional criminal known for his tragic and infamous crime spree in the summer of 1966. During his life, Richard lead a rather tumultuous existence, but nonetheless experienced moments of joy and friendship. He was preceded in death by his father Benjamin Speck, and his mother Mary Margaret (Kirkwood) Speck, and one sister, Carolyn. He is survived by his two remaining sisters, Betty and Margaret. After a lifetime of destructive behavior, Richard ultimately succumbed to cirrhosis, caused by his drinking and smoking habits. The world has lost a significant part of living history.
