Richard Long, an influential member of the business and philanthropic communities in the greater Chicago area, passed away on December 21, 1974 after a brief illness. He was 47 years old. Mr. Long was a graduate of the University of Chicago, and had achieved success early on in his career. He had held several senior level positions in prominent companies, and had served on numerous nonprofit boards. Through his lifetime of hard work and dedication to the betterment of his local community, he left behind a strong legacy of valued partnership and philanthropy. In addition to his volunteerism and professional commitments, Mr. Long was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Eileen, and his three children. The impact of Mr. Long's life and legacy is greatly appreciated by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be sorely missed.
