Reggie White, an NFL Hall of Famer and one of the most feared defensive lineman in the history of professional football, died on December 26th, 2004. He was 43 years old. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, White was drafted in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft by Philadelphia and began his NFL career with several years of dominating play on the defensive line. He earned Defensive Player of the Year honors in 1987 and 1998 and a spot in the Pro Bowl every year from 1986 to 1997. He was an eight-time All-Pro selection during his time in the league. He also led the Green Bay Packers to the Super Bowl XXXI title in the 1996 season. White finished his NFL career with 198 sacks and 17 forced fumbles, which still stands as the NFL record. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006. He will be remembered as one of the greatest and most influential players in NFL history and a beloved husband, father, teammate, and friend.
