The world has lost a beloved actor and entertainer with the passing of Raymond Walston on January 1, 2001, at the age of 86. A native of New Orleans, Ray Walston was best known for his iconic roles in films such as “My Favorite Martian,” “The Apartment,” and “Paint Your Wagon.” He also had popular television roles on “My Favorite Martian,” “Picket Fences,” and “Oh, Mr. Slocum.” Walston earned Tony and Drama Desk Awards for his roles in the Broadway productions of “Damn Yankees” and “The Music Man.” Walston is survived by a daughter, Katherine, and a son, Steven. He will be greatly missed by friends, family, and fans.
