With heavy hearts, the family of Rachel Scott, beloved daughter and friend, announces her tragic death on April 20, 1999 at the age of 17. Rachel was born on December 5, 1981 and was a kind, compassionate and resilient young woman who touched all those she met. She loved music, writing, nature and animals and was an advocate for social justice and standing up for those who could not stand up for themselves. She had an infectious smile and her enthusiasm and courage will continue to be her legacy. Rachel was an ambitious student striving to make a difference in the world. She had dreams of becoming a journalist and was committed to spreading the love of family, friends and life in general. She was a beloved daughter, sibling, cousin and friend and will be dearly missed. We invite all to share in remembrance of her life and be comforted in knowing Rachel has found peace.
