Philip Milton Roth, born in 1933 in Newark, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on May 22nd, 2018 at the age of 85. Philip is best known as one of the foremost authors of the 20th century, with his works being distributed and translated around the globe. His materials included short stories, novels, and screenplays. His notable works include Goodbye, Columbus, Portnoy's Complaint and The Plot Against America, which won the 2005 National Book Award. Throughout his career, he also earned numerous awards and recognitions, most notably two PEN/Faulkner awards and two National Book Critics Circle awards. Roth's unique perspectives, dynamic characters, and real-world-inspired themes captivated readers from all walks of life. His insights and reflections on human identity, morality, and sexuality helped define a period of modern fiction and literature.
